Time Management

Image
Time management  is the process of planning  and control of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness , efficiency  or productivity . It is a juggling act of various demands of study, social life, employment, family, and personal interests and commitments with the fineness of time. Using time effectively gives the person choice   on spending or managing activities at their own time and expediency. How to Manage your Time: Assess Your Own Situation. The first step in determining a schedule is to know yourself. People function differently. Some people are very active in the early morning and can accomplish much at that time. Others find that their peak intellectual time is later in the day. Get Organised Purchase or make some type of scheduling notebook. This may seem simple but you would be surprised how many people do not use this necessary instrument. Prepare a To-Do List. Consider all that you wish to accomplish and...

Majority

Image
A majority is the greater part, or more than half, of the total. It is a subset of a set consisting of more than half of the set's elements. "Majority" can be used to specify the voting requirement, as in a "majority vote". A majority vote is more than half of the votes cast. A plurality is not necessarily a majority as the largest subset considered may consist of less than half the set's elements. This can occur when there are three or more possible choices. In British English the term majority is also alternatively used to refer to the winning margin, i.e., the number of votes separating the first-place finisher from the second-place finisher. Other related terms containing the word "majority" have their own meanings, which may sometimes be inconsistent in usage. It is a situation when more than half the members in a group support a...

When we are able to "read" these signs, we can use it to our advantage. For example, it can help us to understand the  complete  message of what someone is trying to say to us, and to enhance our awareness of people's reactions to what  we  say and do.We can also use it to adjust our own body language so that we appear more positive, engaging and approachable. Making a Confident First Impression These tips can help you to adjust your body language so that you make a great first impression: ·          Have an open posture.  Be relaxed, but don't slouch! Sit or stand upright and place your hands by your sides. Avoid standing with your hands on your hips, as this will make you appear larger, which can communicate aggression or a desire to domina...

Perception

Image
Perceptions vary from person to person. Different people perceive different things about the same situation. But more than that, we assign different meanings to what we perceive. And the meanings might change for a certain person. One might change one's perspective or simply make things mean something else. The meaning of something will change when you look at it differently. You can look at anything differently and it will have a different meaning. There is no fixed meaning to anything. You can always change perspectives and change meanings Perception can be split into two processes:-  (1) processing the sensory input, which transforms this low-level information to higher-level information (e.g., extracts shapes for object recognition) (2) processing which is connected with a person's concepts and expectations (or knowledge), restorative and selective mechanisms that influence perception. Perception depends on the complex functions of the nervous system but sub...
